cave of forgotten dreams
on tuesday, gallery folks went to see werner herzog's 3D film, cave of forgotten dreams.
it was my first herzog movie, first 3D documentary, first documentary to watch at a theatre and first film to watch at the tiff lightbox. (thank you tcard, i am still student!!)
it was not what i expected it to be at all. quite humorous and quirky. according to wiki, herzog films feature heroes with impossible dreams, people with unique talents in obscure fields, or individuals who find themselves in conflict with nature. indeed. the master perfumer was my favourite character. 'i sniff the air to find caves' whahahahahaha. jean-michel geneste and the former circus juggler archaeologist were full of character too.
chauvet cave was stunning to see in 3D. it was unbelievable to see the amazing paintings. they looked way sophisticated to say it was painted thousands of years ago.
it was an awesome experience. loved herzog's take on albino alligators (or where they crocodiles?).
gonna have to watch his other films now. yee~
