yesterday, i had a photo session with Tom, to take photos of the new exhibitions. it took about 7hours to shoot the entire building. phew.... much of the archival documenting was done by him, i was assisting for most part, and few instructions here and there. but i managed to take few shots of my faves, aka highlights of 2011 winter exhibitions! hee hee
Sin-Ying Ho, Eden series
these urns are HUGE... i mean.... larger than life (H 69" x D 18.5"). i just get lost staring at them.. mesmerizing.... truly... and Sin-Ying is actually smaller than me... i'm just shy of being 160cm here...
Rachael Wong, Flat Depth
red painted shadows.... which took entire week to finish.... this is just a teaser compared to the one on the opposite wall... gorgeous presentation.
Despo Sophocleous, Out of Place 4 series
transformation and interaction are achieved in sense of movement. to me, they are robust architectural forms that have turned into delicate piece of jewellery.
Sandra Smirle, Been & Gone, 100 random temporal observations
i have this fascination with paper cut-outs. this particular one documents random timed snapshots of daily movements taken over a 100-day period. seriously... one of these days i am going to attempt to make my own paper cut-outs and seriously cut myself... oops!
studio junction inc., mid-block
uniquely designed paper/plastic tiles make up a very brightly lit room. i just hope no one will fall through and break the entire installation.. yikes....
Drew Mandel Architects, Beyond Lines
the infamous ravine house down to its skeletons. it was featured in the movie chloe. gotta say, i really loved the house.. not so much the movie...
if u live in toronto, come down to see amazing exhibitions at harbourfront centre soon!!!
